Please Volunteer for the Synod Assembly!

The Scranton Wilkes-Barre Mission District Needs Your Help

This year’s Synod Assembly will be hosted in our area at the Mohegan Sun Arena (Wachovia Arena) in Wilkes-Barre on June 18 and 19 and volunteers are needed from each of the churches in the mission district in order to make the event a warm and welcoming success.   Volunteers are badly needed, so if you are willing to volunteer one or two days and make a difference for your church, contact PSALM Martin Everhart at everhartmartin@hotmail.com.

Dr. Viola Vaugh to Lecture, April 25,

2010 At St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,

Dallas PA – Free Admission

Come For An Evening of Inspiration

Dr. Viola Vaughn is the founder and Executive Director of the Women’s Health Education and Prevention Strategies Alliance (WHEPSA) and 10,000 Girls in West Africa.  She founded WHEPSA in 2001 to develop new strategies for offering health and education services to girls in rural Senegal.  The dynamic Viola Vaughn, a long-time resident of Senegal, dramatically describes the challenges and joys of running 10,000 Girls and speaks with passion about her organization’s mission.

Viola hopes to connect with individuals and organizations interested in the education of young girls, as well as with businesses that might be interested in selling 10,000 Girls products.  She will encourage individuals to get involved, volunteer, and give back!

Text Now to Help LWR Fill the Well!

Help Get Water to Those Who Need it the Most

Water affects every aspect of life. Without clean, reliable sources of water, farmers can’t grow crops to sell and feed their families. Women and children must often travel several miles each day to collect water, taking precious time from work and school. And dirty drinking water is a constant threat to people coping with disaster.

With your help, Lutheran World Relief can continue to make sure families have the life-sustaining water they need now and well into the future.

Text “Water” to 40579, and a $10 donation will be added to your cell phone bill. Or click here to donate online.
